JKBOSE Issued Important Notice for J&K private Schools

Srinagar, January 20(DS): The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued a circular regarding the submission of extension case files by private academic institutions in the Union Territory whose affiliation had expired in previous academic sessions.

According to the circular received by KV, the UT level Affiliation Committee is scheduled to meet on January 29, 2024 to review extension applications. Private high and higher secondary schools whose affiliation expired in past years and whose previous extension requests were rejected have been asked to submit fresh case files along with necessary NOCs, safety certificates and prescribed fees by January 24.

The circular stipulates that incomplete submissions will render institutions ineligible for Board facilities and examination permissions for 2023-24. The Board may initiate appropriate action against defaulting schools.

Issued by the Joint Secretary (Exams) on January 16, the circular has been published on the Board’s website www.jkbose.nic.in. It advises institutions to submit extension applications online. Hard copies have also been sent to all private school promoters in Jammu division and Kashmir division.

The Board has requested dailies to publish the notice for wider reach. Affiliation extensions will enable private schools to remain operational and retain Board academy status. The JKBOSE decision will impact hundreds of private schools seeking renewal across J&K.–(Date Sheet)
